The following is a statement by Mary Joe Ganim regarding intending municipal employee layoffs in the city of Bridgeport. "As we end fiscal year 2016 and begin a new fiscal year, my administration has been unable to come to an accommodation with the various city employee labor unions that would get us to a figure of $4,000,000 in savings that is required in order to balance the budget for the coming fiscal year.
