8:42pm--#Bridgeport CT--Police received a call on Seaview Terrace for a man wearing a blinking red nose and reindeer antlers knocking on her door, the caller refused to answer but wants to see an officer. As the call was being dispatched police received a second call about the same man on Seabright Avenue, he is soliciting work according to the second caller. (December 12, 2014) – Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch, Bridgeport Public Schools Superintendent Fran Rabinowitz, and other elected officials, visited Wilbur Cross School yesterday in celebration of the federal government giving the state’s largest city 180 new pre-k seats. The U.S. Department of Education awarded Connecticut $12.5 million to Connecticut this week, which will give 428 kids access to pre-k, and an additional 284 kids to higher-quality pre-k programs. #Bridgeport CT--Just before 11:30pm two shots rang out and a man screamed according to witnesses. A man was robbed and shot in front of 1355 Reservoir Avenue, his cell phone was taken in the robbery. The suspect sped away in a small silver car. The victim was shot in the lower extremities according to radio reports. Expect Reservoir Avenue to be closed near Soundview Avenue as police process the crime scene.
1:42am--#Bridgeport CT--A back porch fire extended into the home of 681 Thorme Street. Firefighters quick response time kept the fire from becoming a much larger fire. First and second searches found no one inside the home. Smoke could be seen coming from the attic vents and smoke filled the home. The fire marshal will investigate the cause of the fire.
