Here is the police report on the story we reported LIVE as it was happening!

(Bridgeport, CT – May 22, 2014) – Police arrested a city man in connection with an incident in which he held two people at gunpoint in their home.

At 12:30 a.m. today, Officers Ean Smith, David Uliano and Mathew Szymczak responded to 1019 Kossuth St. on an unlawful restraint complaint. Officers spoke with the victims’ son who stated his parents were being held inside by someone armed with a shotgun.

Additional units responded and set up a perimeter. At that point, a 69-year-old man emerged from the front of the house. He was determined to be one of the victims and was escorted to safety.

Police entered the house and did not locate a suspect. Officers did locate the victim’s wife, 60, who also was unharmed, on the first floor. As that was transpiring, Uliano reported hearing noises in the rear yard and followed them in the direction of Park Street. He detained a suspect, Terrence Simpson, 32, and the victims provided a description.

The male victim stated that he answered a knock at the door and, when he opened it, the suspect pushed his way in armed with a shotgun. The suspect told the victims that he had been robbed of $240 and an iPad and stated he was told that the person responsible lived in “this yellow house.” The house that he entered is white.

The suspect had both victims sit on the sofa. When they stated that they were not responsible for the robbery, the suspect instructed them to call their son.  After the conversation, the son contacted police.   Uliano subsequently recovered a 12-gauge shotgun behind 369 Park St. and a subsequent search by other officers led to other items of clothing that the victims said the suspect wore.

Simpson faces charges of home invasion, first-degree burglary, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree threatening, second-degree criminal trespass and breach of peace. His bond was set at $250,000
