Bridgeport News: The price of spaghetti prompted a struggle and arrest
#Bridgeport, CT — April 11, 2014 – We reported this live as it was happening. Here are the details:
The price of spaghetti prompted a struggle and arrest Thursday on Fairfield Avenue. Officer Peter Billings responded to K & H Market, 1309 Fairfield Ave., on a report of a disturbance.
Police found the store manager and a second person detaining the suspect, Brandon Boone, 39, of Bridgeport, who had an injury to his head.
Police were told that Boone entered the store at about 11 p.m. and purchased a box of spaghetti. He then loudly complained that the cost was too high. To avoid a confrontation, the owner left the store. The suspect did as well but returned a short time later. He grabbed a bag of nuts, threw them on the counter and asked “how much for the (expletive) nuts?” The manager walked from behind the counter and told Boone to leave the store. According to the manager, Boone threw a punch but missed and that’s when the manager and a second man detained Boone until police arrived.
Boone was treated for a cut to his head and was released on a misdemeanor summons.
