Bridgeport Police Hockey Team Sponsors Clinic for Developmentally Disabled Players

The Bridgeport Police Department hockey team will sponsor a hockey clinic tomorrow, March 20, 2014, with the CT Storm, a non-profit dedicated to providing children with a developmental disability the opportunity to play ice hockey.   “As a team, we held a fundraiser to support this program,” said Police Officer Timothy Leonard, one of the organizers. “As we thought and spoke more, we decided it would be even better to host an event where, as a team, we could do some teaching and probably some learning at the same time. Boat Ordered From China, Never Delivered (Bridgeport, CT – March 19, 2014) – A city man filed a complaint that he paid $1,057 to a Chinese bank for a boat that was never delivered. Officer Daniel Faroni spoke Tuesday to the 57-year-old city resident, who stated that he sent the money to China in December 2013 but that the boat was never delivered. Woman Faces Threatening Man With Knife, Peas

#Bridgeport, CT – March 17, 2014 – A city woman faces charges after threatening a neighbor with a knife and pot of boiling peas. The victim and suspect both live in a rooming house at 941 Noble Ave. The victim, 57, told Officers Thomas Kristy and Michael Stanitis that he provided some food to the suspect to prepare for him because she is a good cook. But when he returned to the common kitchen, the suspect, Mercedes Bowman, 35, started to throw his food out. She then threatened him with a kitchen knife and to throw a pot of boiling water on him. Man Charged with Road Rage Incident

(Bridgeport, CT – March 10, 2014) – A Fox Street man faces charges that he threatened a family with a shotgun during a road rage incident. Officer Tom Kristy was dispatched to a threatening complaint Sunday afternoon and spoke with the victim, who stated that he was driving on Fairfield Avenue with his family when a black Ford Explorer backed onto Fairfield Avenue from a side street, forcing the victim to stop.
