#Bridgeport CT-- Police have received two call this morning for phone scams. The caller says their family member was being held hostage and would only be released if money is wired to them. In both cases the person called the relative to find they are safe and sound.
11:40pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters quickly got an attic fire under control at 16 Jones Avenue. The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate as well as the Red Cross to relocate the tenants.
12:22am--#Bridgeport CT #cttraffic #Stratford CT-- Lots of police activity on I-95 northbound for a car wanted on motor vehicle charges. The officer and passerby have reported numerous items thrown out the window starting at exit 28. The pursuit ended at exit 31.
2:33pm--#Bridgeport CT--VIDEO REPORT-- Just after 2:30 Thursday afternoon in Bridgeport Police got a call from a woman in the 200 block of Lexington Avenue to report that a man was attempting to light a baby on fire. The woman took the baby from the man and brought the child into her apartment until police, firefighters and EMS arrive. The man was identified as Marvin Williams, 28, of Bridgeport the suspect's son. The boy is 13 months old. The boy suffered only minor injuries, thankfully. The suspect is charged with possession of narcotics, risk of injury to a minor, reckless endangerment and third-degree assault. Boat Ordered From China, Never Delivered (Bridgeport, CT – March 19, 2014) – A city man filed a complaint that he paid $1,057 to a Chinese bank for a boat that was never delivered. Officer Daniel Faroni spoke Tuesday to the 57-year-old city resident, who stated that he sent the money to China in December 2013 but that the boat was never delivered.
