I-95 Paving To Resume

The Connecticut Department of Transportation will resume construction activities after the winter shutdown for the pavement preservation project on Interstate 95 in Fairfield and Bridgeport. The project will resume work on or about May 1, 2017. Initial roadway impacts will occur on April 21, 2017, and then will resume on May 1, 2017. The project is scheduled for completion on or about August 14, 2018. The project involves milling and paving a section of I-95 between the New England Avenue overpass and the Broad Street overpass for a total distance of 3 miles. The showing will be in the Rotary Room at 7:00 pm. This film looks at the concept of race and where it came from and provides some information about the history of race relations in America. Many of us feel uncomfortable talking about race, especially in a diverse group of people. We tend to keep our opinions to ourselves. #Fairfield CT--The Fairfield Fire Department held a swearing in ceremony for newly promoted Assistant Chief Roger Caisse, Lieutenant Kevin Polcer and new firefighter Justin Crawford on April 5, 2017 at ceremony conducted at fire headquarters at 140 Reef Road. The ceremony, officiated by Deputy Chief Kyran Dunn, was attended by the families of the members along with many current and retired firefighters from both Fairfield and neighboring departments.   Retired Fairfield Fire Chief Richard Felner attended the ceremony and was asked lead the group in the pledge of allegiance to start the ceremony.   Fire Chief Dennis McCarthy welcomed the families to the ceremony and stated, “ You are joining a department that sets the highest standards in everything it…

1:33pm--#Fairfield CT--On 04/05/2017 the service manager at Wells Fargo Bank, 2115 Black Rock Turnpike, called police to report that a male was just in the bank trying to withdraw $18,000.00 in cash from a fraudulent bank account. The manager told the male that she had to verify some things before she could give him the cash. The male then left a phone number and asked the teller to call when the money was ready. The service manager then notified police to the suspicious activity along with the description of the vehicle and its occupants. Officers located a vehicle that matched the description on Unquowa Rd. near Post Rd. Officers conducted a field identification of the occupants of the vehicle, and…
