TOWN/CHAMBER HOST SHOP & STROLL INTO SPRING

First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor a “Shop & Stroll Into Spring” event on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Participating shops in downtown Fairfield will stay open late and will offer patrons an assortment of complimentary hors d’oeuvres and seasonal refreshments from 5 pm to 9 pm. Local restaurants will be offering dinner or drink specials throughout the evening. Bright Horizons at Fairfield, a daycare center, will also be offering discounted child care services during the Stroll from 6 pm to 9 pm so that parents can enjoy a carefree night exploring downtown Fairfield. Fairfield News: UI meter change not burglars at work

3:00pm--#Fairfield CT--A UI worker changing a meter gave a scare to a Hemlock Road resident.  The resident locked herself in closet and called her mother that she heard someone inside the home.  The mother then called police.  When police arrived to the home they found a UI doortag and discovered that the sounds the girl heard was the meter being changed and no one entered the home.

Fairfield News: Firefighters take of propane leak

On Friday March 7, 2014 at 11:09 AM, the Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched to a reported 100 pound propane tank leaking inside a house under construction on 797 High Street. The first unit arrived on scene and immediately heard the sound of leaking gas coming from the tank inside the structure. Firefighters met with the on scene contractor and verified all workers were outside of the house. Specialized gas detection meters carried on all fire apparatus were used by personnel and indicated that the inside of the building had significant levels of propane inside the building. Personnel quickly shut down the street and deployed a hose line as a precaution. Fairfield Police were requested to the scene to shut…
