Merritt Parkway Pursuit

4:15am-- Person is in custody on Voit Avenue. 4:04am--#cttraffic-- A pursuit that began in Bridgeport on Boston Avenue went north on Route 8/25 to the Merritt Parkway southbound.  Bridgeport Police broke the pursuit off in Fairfield.  The driver ran a red light and a stop sign in front of the Bridgeport Officer.  State Police continued the pursuit and the pursuit reversed northbound in Fairfield.  The car has now got off exit 6 on Old Town Road and now on Trumbull Avenue.

New Fisher House In West Haven Veterans Hospital

A new Fisher House in West Haven is being built to assist those who have a family member in the VA hospital. Ground was broken on this 16 suite house on April 11, and will provide free housing for an estimated 500 families a year. The house will be located on the VA campus on Campbell Avenue. Bridgeport Senators Bet On Casinos

BRIDGEPORT – Senator Marilyn Moore (D-Bridgeport) and Senator Ed Gomes (D- Bridgeport) released the following statement regarding the current proposal for a casino in East Windsor:   “I am in favor of the plan by Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes partners to build a casino in East Windsor. Connecticut House Passes Manufacturer Permit for Farm Brewers Bill

Connecticut’s House of Representatives passed a bill that aims to create a manufacturer permit for a farm brewery (H.B. 5928). The permit would cost each permittee $300, subsequently allowing the permitted to manufacture, store, bottle, distribute, and sell up to 50,000 gallons of beer that is brewed on a farm annually. St. Mary-St. Michael School Art Enrichment Program Receives Grant

St. Mary-St. Michael Elementary/Middle School received a $1,000 grant from the Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation. The grant was awarded to enhance the schools after school Art Enrichment Program. Stephen DiRienzo , vice president of the Valley Arts Council and art teacher at St. Mary St. Michael, said the school is using the grant money to have community artists visit the school to teach students various art techniques. “We do these after school programs throughout the year; this particular session has visiting artists.
