Milford News: Liquor Truck Strikes Building
4:24pm--#Milford CT-- First responders on the way to Village Bistro at at 1501 Boston Post Road. The building also has the psychic on the 2nd floor. I wonder if they saw it coming. Earlier the the Wendy's at 433 Old Gate Lane was hit with significant damage. Firefighters are now updating the Bistro has minor damage.
Mutual Traffic Enforcement In Fairfield County
The number one complaint about the town of Fairfield has to do with traffic. Whether or not its speeding traffic stop signs or other traffic related issues." said Chief Garry MacNamara. The boundaries amoung towns will be just lines on a map as towns coordinate traffic enforcement. So a Monroe police officer could be working traffic, radar DUI, seat belt enforcement in Fairfield or Stratford. Bridgeport News: Stolen Vehicle Crashes
1:49pm--#Bridgeport Connecticut-- Police attempted to pull over a stolen Kia on Colorado Avenue. The stolen vehicle took off on police but quickly crashed into a parked van at the intersection of Colorado and Fairfield Avenue. Police captured the driver and a passenger after a quick foot pursuit, a second passenger is still at large.
News12’s Tom Appleby Retires – Broadcasts To Originate In New Jersey
#Norwalk CT-- Today was Tom Appleby's last newscast as he retires and all future newscast will originate in New Jersey. Since 1984 Appleby has been anchor, news director and general manager at News12 on Cross Street in Norwalk. Altice purchased Cablevision in June of 2016 from founder Charles Dolan and his son James. In August of 2016 Altice consolidated it's call center in Shelton, laying off 600 people. Today was the last day for all anchors at News12. There was no mention of it on their newscast or social media. The local reporters and photographers will remain according to Altice. The weekend newscasts were originating for a couple months now. I-95 Crash
4:00pm--#Fairfield Connecticut-- Firefighters on scene of a crash on I-95 northbound AND southbound between exits 23 and 24. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the driver of a white sedan who was traveling southbound fled the scene after his wheel came off the car and smashing the windshield of a car traveling in the northbound lane. K-9 was called in as fresh tracks in the snow was located on Sunset Avenue but the track was lost a short time later. It is my pleasure to announce the 2017 Congressional Art Competition, an annual, nation-wide art contest sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives. I encourage all students in grades 9-12 who reside in or attend high school in Connecticut's Fourth Congressional District to participate. This is one of my favorite annual events, and meeting the student artists and their families is something I look forward to each spring.
