Governor Lifts Travel Ban

#HARTFORD, CT – Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced this afternoon that the travel ban on state roads that went into effect early this morning will be lifted effective at 5:00 p.m. today, but he is still urging motorists to stay off the roads if possible this evening as conditions remain treacherous. “By limiting travel on state roads to only essential personnel, we dramatically reduced the potential for accidents and it has provided road crews with much greater access to clear the roads faster,” Governor Malloy said.  “As the storm begins to taper off, we will be lifting the ban effective at 5 p.m. today, however I want to stress that residents are still strongly advised to stay off the roads…

Malloy today announced that he has signed an order proclaiming a civil preparedness emergency in the State of Connecticut ahead of the major winter storm that is expected to impact the state on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. With dangerous weather conditions anticipated that will last throughout the day, the Governor has also signed an order activating a statewide travel ban that will begin at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday and remain in effect until further notice. Westport News: Various Charges

In October of 2016, Westport Officers responded to a North Avenue address on a report of harassment. The complainant stated that her juvenile child received a Facebook message stating derogatory things about the child’s parent. These messages were received from a Facebook account in Monroe Connecticut. Due to a Protective Order already in place, Meg Hyman was developed as a suspect as she was arrested for similar charges previously. The order specifically says that Margaret E. Hyman is not to contact the protected parties in any manner, including electronic or telephone and not to contact the protected person & home, workplace or others. Margaret E. On February 22, 2017 at approximately 1609 hours the subject depicted in the video described as a white male 5’10 in his twenties approached the main door to People’s United Bank on Old Post Road in Southport  which was locked. The male yelled to an employee who had just locked the door and the employee told him that they were closed. Governor Happy About Unused Drugs

HARTFORD, CT – Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that the State of Connecticut saw a dramatic increase in the amount of  used prescription medications that residents dropped off at collection boxes during 2016, with the state collecting a total of 33,803 pounds worth of various medications throughout the year.  That amounts to a 43 percent increase compared to the amount that residents dropped off in 2015, when 23,651 pounds of unused drugs were collected by the state.   “The increasing amount of unwanted medication that’s being collected at our drop-off boxes is a good sign that people in our state are taking the epidemic of prescription drug abuse seriously,” said Governor Malloy, who this year has introduced a legislative package…

12:35am--#Milford Connecticut--#Bridgeport Connecticut--#Trumbull Connecticut-- As we first told you when the news was breaking!  A Connecticut State Police Officer was running laser speed enforcement on I-95 southbound south of exit 44 when they located a tan Honda GL-30 driving 90mph. State Police attempted to stop the Honda which engaged in pursuit exceeding speeds of 106mph.  The Honda then got off exit 38 onto the Milford feeder and then on to Route 15 southbound.  The suspect hit stop sticks deployed by police at the exit 49 on ramp of the Merritt Parkway taking out the front passenger tire and he got off exit 48 on to Trumbull Main Street.  He continued into Bridgeport where turned on to the dead end Oxford…

HARTFORD – State Senator Marilyn Moore (D-Bridgeport) testified in support of two bills that will substantially improve the quality of life for people earning minimum wage in Connecticut.   Sen.
