Interstate Battery Powers the DoingItLocalmobile

The DoingItLocalmobile goes running to news calls from the hood to the burbs at all hours to report to YOU.   I need to get to the story and get back to report to you.  I know a car battery is good for about five years and I was shocked to find my battery was over seven years old.  Larry Judge of Interstate Batteries in Bridgeport told me that my car is easy on car batteries.  Now the DoingItLocalmobile is now powered by the Interstate Battery just like Kyle Bush’s car # 18 in NASCAR! So can you.   If your battery is over five years old contact Larry Judge at 203-368-2300, he is usually in early in the morning.   Nothing like knowing you can get to and from where you need to be–they are outrageously dependable!

We reel in Swanson Fish!

I am so delighted to ad another high quality sponsor to DoingItLocal.com and that is Swanson Fish Market on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield!  Freshness is ALWAYS the key and Swanson’s delivers with fresh fish arriving every day from  around the world at Fulton Fish Market.  NO big box can deliver this promise nor that their fish hasn’t been previously frozen.

I’m really excited to be working with Sue Swanson and her daughter Larissa on not only how healthy seafood is but also how it can help me loose weight.  I really need to lose about fifty pounds and this combined with exercise that will work for an old fart like me.  There will be a lot more about this as the summer progresses!

Talk about a dream cake!

Small Business Shout Outs started when Danyella from Everything Sweet contacted me and told me that she bakes to make ends meet for her and her son.  She’d be happy to bake something for me if I would give her a shout out.  I thought about it and wondered how many other businesses are out there that could use a one time shout out.  I agreed and  told her that the freebie wasn’t necessary, I was just happy to do it and help her out.

Danyella wouldn’t take no for an answer so I agreed she could bake a birthday cake for my daughter last week, she turned twelve.  She wanted a red velvet cake, I’ve had that in the past and just thought it was the trendy thing.  Well I didn’t have Danyella’s red velvet cake.  It was awesome.  Very flavorful and moist in every bite!

One of the frustrations Danyella told me was many people think the cakes might be the same price as at the supermarket which they aren’t.  Everything is homemade and a lot of work goes into their creation.  I’m not a cake person but it is some of the very best I’ve ever had!    If you are interested in having Danyella create a masterpiece for you call her at 203-218-0057 or click her Facebook page here……

If you own a small business and would like a shout out please do the following:

E-mail me at – doingitlocal.com@gmail.com and in the the Subject Line write Small Business Shout Out and the name of your business.  Give a brief description of your business, contact person, phone number, website or Facebook Page.

I traded my trench coat in yesterday!

I received a message and a tease a couple weeks ago with DoingItLocal.com logo being sewn on something.  Kate Mucherino invited me to meet the crew at Safeguard/Langer Corporation.  They specialize in promoting your business in promotional item services, printing service, and screen printing .  they can get your company name on a wide variety of products, you can see some samples on the table in front of us.

I had a number of appointments today thinking if its only in the high 60’s temperature wise and I’m dying in the trench coat what should I do for the summer?  Well that embroidered surprise was a polo shirt in our colors!  I think I’ll be ordering a few more because it gives me a professional appearance!

If you are in the market for marketing your business I highly recommend giving them a call at 1-800-939-3467.  Everyone there was just so friendly.
