#Stratford CT--This month the prescription drug box at Stratford Police Headquarters reached the one-ton mark in collection of unwanted and unused medications. The drug box was installed in the police department lobby in October 2013. It was a collaborative effort amongst several Town departments, including the Stratford Police, Health, and Community Services Departments with the support of the Office of Mayor John Harkins. “When you consider the fact that most prescription bottles weigh just a few ounces even when filled, to reach the one-ton mark in a relatively short period of time is remarkable”, said Stratford Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour. “We thank the citizens for taking advantage of this service. #Stratford CT--Saturday the Stratford EMS conducted an Honor Guard Graduation, Remembrance Ceremony plaque dedication,and new ambulance dedication. Graduating was -Volunteer EMT, Lauren Botsford, -Volunteer EMT/Supervisor, Scott Burton. Volunteer EMT, Kevin Callahan - Lt Commander, Volunteer EMT, Tom Hallas, -Volunteer EMT/Supervisor, Chris Mancini - Sergeant-Volunteer EMT, Jeff Shaw. Paramedic, Mike Paoletto (Honor Guard Commander) orchestrated the event with his cadets. Administrator Kevin Giasullo "MC'd" the event. Director Michael Loiz gave the memorial plaque dedication and Mayor John Harkins participated in "jacketing" the new graduates with their new Class-A jacket.
