UPDATE: State Police Detectives Investigate Stratford Police Involved Shooting

On September 11, 2015 at approximately 5:00 a.m. the Stratford Police Department executed a search warrant at 25 Yarwood St. in their town. During the course the search warrant, the accused approached Stratford Police Officers with a weapon –
not a firearm. The suspect disobeyed orders to stop, resulting in a Stratford Police Officer discharging his duty weapon at the suspect. The suspect received non-life-threatening injuries as a result. There were no reported injuries to Stratford Police Officers. The suspect was treated for his injuries, and transported to Bridgeport hospital for further evaluation. Stratford Police Officers took the accused into custody. At the request of the Stratford Chief of Police and Bridgeport States Attorney’s Office, detectives from Central District Major Crime responded to the scene and assumed the investigation into the discharge of the Stratford Police Officer’s duty weapon. This is an active investigation.

Accused: William C. Rucker (DOB: 03/19/74) 40 Roosevelt Avenue Stratford, CT The Stratford Police Officer has been identified as Officer Paul Giegengack, a seven year veteran of the Stratford Police Department. Officer Giegengack

Stratford News: Plane’s Landing Gear Fails During Landing

1:22pm–#Stratford CT– #Bridgeport CT– A plane’s landing gear gave out during a landing at Sikorsky Airport causing it to run off landing strip #8 into the grassy area.  The pilot and passenger were not injured.  It was previously reported that the plane’s 30 gallon of fuel leaked but that was not the case.  The airport was shutdown during the incident.

UPDATE: Firefighters reporting pilot and passenger have NO injuries.  There is approximately 30 gallons of fuel on the plane, no word on any leakage of the fuel.

1:22pm–#Stratford CT–#Bridgeport CT– A plane has run off runway #8 and is on the grass area at Sikorsky Airport.  Everyone is out of the plane no word on injuries at this time.

Video Of Bridgeport Police Tribute To Deputy Golforth

#Bridgeport CT–On Friday Stratford and Bridgeport Police Department unions worked together to pay tribute to Harris County Sheriff Darren Goforth of Texas. Deputy Darren Goforth was shot in the back of the head last Friday night at a Cypress gas station after filling up his police cruiser.

Stratford News: Weapons Arrest

On 08-21-2015 Justin McCabe age 31 of Stratford was arrested at his home by patrol officers for several charges after responding to a report of shots fired. McCabe who lives at 135 Lincoln Street was reportedly intoxicated when he fired several rounds into the ground in the back yard of his residence. McCabe initially lied to officers as to his involvement but investigation and statements by witnesses helped prove otherwise. McCabe was taken into custody after a brief struggle. A total

of three handguns were seized as evidence.

McCabe was charged with: Unlawful Discharge Of A Firearm, Possession Of A Loaded Firearm While Intoxicated, Interfering With An Officer, Breach Of Peace 2nd and Reckless Endangerment. McCabe was held on a $75,000 dollar bond and is scheduled to appear in court on 08-31-2015.
