“Officers reacted immediately and pursued the gunman on foot,” said Police Chief Joseph L. Gaudett Jr. “Officers converged on the area and the suspect was quickly arrested hiding behind a house on Saunders Avenue. And, police recovered a handgun.” Detectives arrested the suspect, identified as Gregory Weathers Jr., 33, of 449 Saunders Ave., for murder and gun charges. At this time, no motive had been established. The suspect and victim did not appear to know each other. On 03-21-2015 investigators from the Stratford Police Youth Bureau arrested John Naughright, age 36 of Stratford for Possession of Child Pornography. The arrest came after investigators served a search warrant at Naughright’s home. Naughright was taken into custody at his place of employment in New Haven by the investigating officers. Naughright is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on 04-02-2015.
