2021-08-30@3:57pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to the 400 block of Benham Avenue for a fire on the 2nd the 3rd floor of a multi-family home. Everyone made it out safely and there were no reported injuries. The fire marshal was called to investigate the cause. The American Red Cross is helping four families – seven adults – three children after a fire today on Benham Ave., Bridgeport. The Red Cross provided assistance to meet the families' immediate needs. Responders included: Mark Rozelle, Ben Yambao and Susan Shaw.

2021-08-30@5:11pm--#Fairfield CT-- #Bridgeport CT-- A four year old child, possibly special needs was found by Mercedes Benz employees on Scofield Avenue. The child was found wearing pajamas and was thought to be out there for quite sometime according to radio reports. He was playing by the river and the employees brought him inside until police arrived. The mother reported the child missing and at 5:27pm the mother was on her way to the dealership. Governor Ned Lamont today announced that at the advice of Connecticut Department of Public Health Acting Commissioner Dr. Deidre Gifford, he is directing Connecticut’s COVID-19 vaccine program to implement the recommendations released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday regarding the administration of third doses of COVID-19 vaccines to individuals who are moderately or severely immunocompromised. On Thursday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration amended the emergency use authorization for both the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to allow for certain individuals with compromised immune systems to receive a third dose. On August 29, 2021 just after midnight the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a shot spotter activation within the 500 block of Grant Street (5 rounds fired). Minutes later patrol officers were updated; a person had been shot at that location and the victim was being transported to Bridgeport Hospital by a family member. The victim, a 28-year-old Bridgeport man, was suffering from a life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. He went into surgery early this morning and remains at the hospital in critical condition. B.P.D. Detectives responded to the hospital and crime scene. Interviews were conducted, the scene was photographed, and evidence was collected. UPDATE: Bridgeport fireboat reporting the call is off Charles Island. 2021-08-29@12:45pm--I have two water rescue calls come over the radio. I'm not sure if they are one in the same. First call came in as two boats collide two miles from Charles Island and another for 3 people in the water with a vessel taking two and a half miles east of the Stratford Point. 2021-08-28@8:14pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A car appeared to have hit a car at the corner of Park and North Avenue and proceed into the gas station hitting a canopy stanchion, side wide a pump hitting the pump barrier and losing a wheel before coming to a stop after hitting the fence towards the back of the building. There did not appear to be any injuries.
