New England Guitar Society Returns LIVE on July 23 The Stratford Library will welcome back the popular New England Guitar Society in a live concert on Saturday, July 23 at 2 pm. The concert is free and open to the public. The New England Guitar Society was established to create a nurturing environment for classical guitarists to meet, share ideas, perform, compose, teach and grow as musicians. Each season the society holds member meetings, and invites guest artists to perform public concerts and hold master classes at the Milford Arts Council and online. For the library concert NEGS will present a classical guitar journey with music by Johann Kaspar Mertz, Ludwig van Beethoven, Astor Piazzolla, Len Williams and Astor Piazzolla among others. HARTFORD–U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn) will set off on his sixth “Walk Across Connecticut” on Monday. Murphy will start by kayaking on the Housatonic River on Monday and end his walk on Thursday in New Haven. He will hear firsthand from Connecticut residents about a variety of topics and gather feedback to take back to Washington. (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is directing Office of Policy and Management Secretary Jeffrey Beckham to waive service fees that Connecticut state agencies are required to begin collecting on credit, debit, and charge card transactions under a state law that takes effect July 1, 2022. Waiving these service fees will save Connecticut residents and businesses approximately $6 million during the 2023 fiscal year, which begins next week. “Each of us is feeling the pressure of inflation, and I am committed to reducing costs for businesses and residents where the law allows,” Governor Lamont said. “By waiving these transaction fees, businesses and residents will save approximately $6 million. Video Report- 2022-06-16 Firefighters just finished with a commercial fire on Woodmont Road when another call just down the street on Lyda Drive. Speed was a big factor as the firefighters were able to rescue the elderly homeowner. She appeared to have smoke inhalation and she was transported to the hospital. Firefighters reported heavy fire on arrival but quickly knocked the bulk of the fire down. The fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire. https://youtu.be/9YIM6koOjt0
#Milford CT-- On June 9, 2022, Police responded to a residence for a disturbance. William Kuryla , of Milford had been previously warned by the police to stay away from the residence.
