Bridgeport Free Electronic Recycling

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joseph Ganim is reminding residents that the City of Bridgeport offers free electronic recycling six days a week. Bridgeport residents may bring their unwanted electronics to the Bridgeport Recycling and Transfer Station located at 475 Asylum Street, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Residents are required to bring proof of residency. Accepted materials include, but are not limited to: Computers, Laptops, Printers, Fax Machines, Monitors, TVs, Cell Phones, Tablets, Video Games, Game Consoles, VCR/DVD Machines, Remotes, Keyboards, Computer Mice, Modems, Small Appliances, and Stereo Equipment. Fairfield News: Smoke Condition At Assumption School

8:32am--#Fairfield Connecticut-- Firefighters were called to a smoke condition at Assumption School at 605 Stratfield Road.  said they evacuated the school in to the church hall so the kids would not be exposed to the cold.  Firefighters discovered it was a motor to ventilation unit that burnt out causing the smoke condition.  Conditions were compounded as it was drop off time for the students and the "firefighters were pressed into becoming traffic cops" to help alleviate the situation Gomola said.  Firefighters quickly discovered the faulty motor and disconnected it.  Firefighters metered the entire school and found no unusual readings.  Classes resumed and the heating and air conditioning contractor was called to the school to replace the motor.   If it were…

Fairfield News: From the desk of First Selectman Michael Tetreau--I have been receiving many letters on this year’s budget proposal. I am attempting to read all the emails (close to 800 at last count). Since I will not be able to answer them all individually, I will do my best to respond to all concerns in a series of updates to the Fairfield budget update. Norwalk News: February Officers Of The Month

Officer Tyrone Boyd and Officer Shoubert Paulemon were named the February 2017 Norwalk Police Department Officers of the Month. Officers Boyd and Paulemon responded to a residence for a suicidal person call. Upon their arrival, they found a very distraught person holding a knife to their throat and threatening suicide. These officers calmly talked to the person and got her/him to put the knife down. The individual was transported to the hospital for evaluation. This person recently sent a letter to Chief Kulhawik thanking the officers for saving her/his life. These officers’ actions in diffusing a dangerous situation speak to their professionalism and character. Congratulations to you both. (Norwalk Police Press release)

(Westport, CT) On 03/20/17 at approximately 09:30am, Westport Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of 190 Main Street on a report of a disturbance. The caller indicated there may be a gun involved. Officers arrived moments later and located the victim of this incident in the parking lot. The victim reported a man, later identified as Sammy Alanz, pushed him to the ground during an argument about snowremoval. The victim reported that while Alanz was on top of him, Alanz lifted up the side of his jacket and pointed to his waist stating he was going to kill him.
