BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (November 20, 2016) – The American Red Cross is helping 11 people after fires in Bridgeport and New Haven. The Red Cross is helping two families – five adults after a fire yesterday on Hallett Street, Bridgeport. The Red Cross is also helping four families – six adults after a fire today on Elm Street, New Haven. The Red Cross provided assistance to meet the families’ immediate needs. Responders included: Mike Vincelli, Ed Murray, Franklyn Ballentine, Mike Arthur, Sharon Harriott, Kendall Bobula and Sue Parker. The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant; shaving supplies and other items a resident might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.
