Bridgeport News: Adults & Children Hurt In Crash Involving City Bus
3:44pm--#Bridgeport Connecticut-- Nine adults and three children were injured when a Jeep Cherokee allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection of Maple and Kossuth Street hitting a city bus owned by the Greater Bridgeport Transit. The bus then hit a silver minivan and several parked cars. Assistant Fire Chief Harold Clarke told me the injuries ranged from back injuries, strains to bumps and bruises. The firefighters went into mass casualty mode which is any incident in which emergency medical services resources, such as personnel and equipment, are overwhelmed by the number patients. The firefighters and EMS prioritize the injured, the most severely injured treated and transported first.
