Bridgeport News: 2 Pedestrians Hit

1:30am--UPDATE: The driver, a resident of Savoy Street just called police to turn himself in. He said he did not see the two women. It was dark and the women were wearing dark clothes. 12:22am--#Bridgeport Connecticut-- A police officer on routine patrol found two women laying on the side of Savoy Street at the corner Main Street.  The driver turned right onto Savoy Street, hit the two and fled.   One woman was not has a serious head injury and was not conscious at the scene.   The other woman was conscious and may have suffered a broken leg.

State Police Detectives Seize Narcotics, Firearms following Bridgeport Search Warrant

#Bridgeport, CT. (July 13, 2016): State Police detectives from the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force arrested one person following a search and seizure warrant in Bridgeport. On July 13, 2016 at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force (SNTF), with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Emergency Services Unit, served a Search and Seizure Warrant at 28 Bell Street in Bridgeport. The warrant was the result of an investigation into the sale of prescription pills by Miriam Almourtada- Cotto. Mayor Ganim signs Concession Agreement with two Municipal Unions

#Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim  signed concession agreements with the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) and the Bridgeport City Supervisor Association (BCSA) that freeze wages and guarantee no layoffs until June 30, 2018. Assumed in the current fiscal year 2017 budget is $4,000,000 in savings from union concessions. The agreement is expect to save tax payers approximately $500,000 in the next fiscal year. As result of this agreement, layoffs for 27 employees have been rescinded.
