6:06pm--#Fairfield CT-- A dumpster fire parked close to a house at 7 Windsor Place extended to the exterior of the house causing damage. The homeowner was not home and firefighters had to force entry to the home to ensure the fire did not extend into the home. The resident cat was not harmed in the incident.
Bridgeport – Bridgeport Police today revealed that a major cache of guns and illicit drugs were seized in an action of the city’s new Violent Crime Reduction Task Force over the weekend. One Bridgeport man was arrested during the police action on Saturday January 30, 2016 and charged with several felony counts. The Bridgeport Police Tactical Narcotics Team executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at 30 Aldine Avenue, in Bridgeport. There, Officers discovered an elaborate marijuana cultivation center located in the basement of the residence, which was comprised of indoor grow tents equipped with high intensity grow lamps, agricultural supplies and a mechanical irrigation/ exhaust system. 5:44pm--#cttraffic--#Bridgeport CT-- Slow go on the Route 8/25 on ramp at Washington Avenue. The on ramp was closed for a period of time after a U-Haul Truck crashed into the back of a car. Ramp has just reopened but expect delays.
On 01/21/16 at approximately 11:20pm, Westport Officers were dispatched to a Franklin Street address on a report of a disturbance. Officers located an open door and entered the residence. The victim was located bleeding from the head and the accused, James Olivia, had left the scene. Officers located Olivia at his residence in Norwalk a short time later. Officers determined that Olivia grabbed and struck the victim in the face, then stopped the victim from calling 911. Olivia was arrested and held on a $10,000.00 bond with a court date the next morning. 2:11am--#Bridgeport CT-- Just after closing police received a call of a group of men fighting outside the Sugar and Spice Club at 1394 Park Avenue. Then shots rang out and man was found outside the club shot in the leg. He told police it happened somewhere else and was not cooperating with police. He was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
