Stratford News: Armed Church Robbery
Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at the rectory of First Baptist Church of Stratford at 40 Johnson Court. Radio reports said that two masked men, both armed with handguns entered the building located behind the church and took a number of purses from parishioners. Connecticut State Police Graduation
December 17, 2015 – The Connecticut State Police today graduated 58 new State Troopers, all members of the 125th Training Troop. Colonel Brian Meraviglia, Commander of the State Police, congratulated the graduating class during a ceremony at Jorgensen Auditorium at the University of Connecticut. Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman addressed The 125th training troop entered the Connecticut State Police Training Academy on June 15, 2015, and spent approximately 1,400 hours in the classroom. They spent many more hours training in physical conditioning, water rescue, driving and other specialized areas of police work. The 58 members of this class began the process of becoming State Troopers more than a year ago.
