Westport News: Structure Fire

Westport Firefighters were dispatched to a fire alarm activation at a commercial occupancy on Woodside Lane at 5:55 AM. Two Engine companies, the Truck Company and the Shift Commander were on the initial dispatch. Arriving companies initially staged at locked entry gates and proceeded to walk up the building to investigate the cause of the alarm. While conducting a 360 of the building, Engine 2 found smoke coming from a room on the 1 st floor at the rear of the building. The incident was upgraded to a working fire bringing two additional Westport Engines. Westport News: Housekeeper Charged in Forgery/Larceny

#Westport CT--July of 2016, a Westport woman hired  a cleaning company to clean their home and learned that a check was removed from their checkbook that was cashed at a Citibank.  The victim reported a bank check in the amount of $4,000.00 dollars was deposited to an unknown account that the victim did not write. It was learned that the check was taken from the second to last position in the victim’s checkbook. Officers obtained video surveillance from Citibank where the check was deposited, and the suspect was positively identified as Diana Parra. Parra was an assistant housekeeper for the victim. Parra stole the check, then forged the victim’s signature and deposited it into her personal account. A warrant was…

Westport News: Westport Gun Owner Charged

On 03/08/2017 at approximately 8:00am, Westport Detectives responded to Norwalk Hospital on report of a Westport resident who was being treated for a gunshot wound to the left thigh. It was reported that the incident happened at approximately 6:00am that morning on Oak Street, Westport. The patient was Dominic Demace, who claimed to have accidentally shot himself in the leg while cleaning a gun. Detectives served a Search Warrant on the home to further investigate the incident. A warrant was submitted to Norwalk Court for the arrest of Demace. Since a juvenile was in the house on the date and time of this incident, the additional charge of Risk of Injury was added. Westport News: Are You Happy To See Me Or Is That Gray Goose Down Your Pants?

On 02/17/17 at approximately 6:00pm, Westport Officers responded to 1439 Post Road East (Castle Wine & Spirits) on a report of a larceny. Prior to Officer’s arrival, dispatch advised the suspect left in a red Chevy Trailblazer with a large sticker in the rear window. The store surveillance footage showed a male take a bottle of Grey Goose vodka valued at $56.99 and stuffed it down his pants. The male suspect then left the store in a red Chevy Trailblazer with a CT marker plate. On 02/20/17, a Westport Officer stopped the suspect vehicle in this case and identified the suspect as James Coates. The suspect was even wearing the same green Army jacket from the night of the Larceny.…

Westport News: Pursuit Nets Bridgeport Man Arrest On Multiple Charges

(Westport, CT) Today at approximately 9:30am, Westport Officers were dispatched to OptiCare, 877 Post Road East, to check the welfare of a male who was in the store and appeared disoriented. While on route, Officers learned the male had stolen a pair of glasses and left the store. As Officers arrived, the male left the scene in a gray Pontiac at a high rate of speed. Officers then pursued the vehicle westbound on Post Road East. The vehicle was traveling fast through the center of town so the pursuit was terminated as it was too dangerous. Wesport News: Man Faces Assault and Drug Charges

#Westport CT--On 03/19/17 at approximately 4:30am, Westport Officers responded to 1510 Post Road East, the Exxon Gas Station, on a report of a 911 hang up call.  Westport Officer David Perez located a Allens Vardier in the store and immediately took him into custody.  Officers learned that Vardier came into the store demanding to buy a single cigarette.  When the clerk advised Vardier that they do not sell single cigarettes, Vardier went behind the counter and began assaulting the clerk.  Vardier then assaulted an elderly male in the store who was attempting to call 911.  Vardier appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance.  A brown leafy substance was located on Vardier which tested positive for PCP.  Based on…

Westport News: Bad Check Issued To O&G Industries

In October of 2015, Michael Connors issued 2 checks to O & G Industries. The account associated with the checks did not have sufficient funds when the checks were deposited. A warrant was submitted to Norwalk Court for the arrest of Connors for Issuing a Bad Check. On 03/17/17, Westport Officers responded to the Ridgefield Police Department and took Connors into custody. Connors was transported to Westport Police Headquarters where he was processed for the above listed charge. He was released on a Promise to Appear in court on 03/29/17. Westport News: Car Burglary/Stolen Vehicle Arrests At Greens Farms Railroad Station

#Westport Connecticut--On March 15, 2017 at approximately 11:00 am, Westport Police Department responded to the Greens Farms Railroad Station on a report of suspicious people attempting to make entry into vehicles. While Patrol Officers were responding to the scene, members of the Westport Police Detective Bureau began monitoring the live streaming video from Greens Farms station. Detectives were able to locate the suspects on camera, monitor their activities and update responding units. The first arriving units immediately located two males wearing dark clothing and watched as they attempted to gain entry into at least two different vehicles by lifting or manipulating door handles. Westport News: Employee Arrested For Icing Customers

On February 13, 2017 the complainant of this incident responded to Westport Police Headquarters to file a Larceny complaint. The complainant reported that an employee of his was stealing from the store, Cake Box, 10 Bay Street, Westport CT. The complainant said Greg Neil had been the Manager of The Cake Box and was over charging customers who were paying cash and charging customers for items but not entering them into the register. Neil was caught on video surveillance charging customers the proper amount, but entering a smaller amount in the register.
