Westport News: Holiday Giving Program

Westport, CT - Human Services Director Elaine Daignault announced that the Department of Human Services’ annual Holiday Giving Program benefitting Westport residents is underway. “Over the years, the generosity of volunteer donors has made the holidays brighter for hundreds of children, families and seniors in our town,” said Daignault. “Last year alone, the DHS Holiday Giving Program helped over four-hundred residents with their holiday wishes.   We hope that residents will continue to support their neighbors, as our department continues to see residents coping with foreclosures, layoffs and reduced work hours.” Following established guidelines for Westport’s Warm-Up Fund eligibility, the Human Services Department serves largely as a facilitator, allowing Westport residents who wish to give to do so, while protecting the…

Bridgeport News: Sacred Heart Student Allegedly Sexually Assaulted by NFL Player

#Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez said today that a female student went the St. Vincent's Hospital emergency room claiming that she was sexually assaulted by an acquaintance and former University of Connecticut football player.  Other sources have told me that the suspect is also an NFL football player.  It is still early in the investigation and police has not released the name of the suspect.   The chief said the Bridgeport Police major sexual crime unit is investigating as well as the university.

Bridgeport News: Person Shot

8:51pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police received a couple of calls for shots fired in the 500 block of Beechmont Avenue.  Police recovered a round in homeowner's kitchen door, shot from Valley Avenue.  A short time later St. Vincent's Hospital reported a gunshot victim arrived in a private vehicle and the victim limped into the emergency room.   This news report is made possible by:
