Monroe, CT – Senator Marilyn Moore (D-Bridgeport) today welcomed the approval of $400,000 in state funds to enhance housing availability and increase economic development in the town of Monroe. “Not only is safe, secure, affordable housing a basic human need, but it also supports the overall economic success of our town and state,” Sen. Moore said. “I welcome this effort to continue improving and enhancing living conditions for our most vulnerable residents in Monroe.” The town plans to rehabilitate 10 low and moderate-income households. #Bridgeport CT--On July 25, 2017 troopers from Troop G - Bridgeport are investigating a larceny reported at Housatonic Community College, 900 Lafayette Blvd. in Bridgeport, CT. At approximately 6:45 a.m., a male suspect entered a room where several items were taken. Reported stolen was a black iPad, a black Galaxy S6 phone and a black iPhone 5. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'5" to 5'8", 150-180 lbs, wearing a gray t-shirt, green cargo shorts and black sneakers. The suspect was seen exiting the college at approximately 6:50 a.m., and observed walking northwest on Lafayette Blvd. towards State St. The suspect was then seen crossing State St. headed towards Broad St. Anyone who thinks they may have any information…

11:00PMish--Right around 11pm shots were fired by a white car striking a man at Pearl Street at Noble Avenue. Police were combing the area for shell casings and other evidence when I left the scene. A short time later police reported they recovered a firearm and had a suspect in custody at Central and Deacon Street. I don't know at this time if the two scenes are connected.
