Westport FD Donates To Burn Care Foundation

#Westport The Westport Firefighters Charitable Foundation (WUFCF) presented a check to the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation “Children’s Burn Camp”. Kathleen Gerrity, Executive Director of the CT Burns Care Foundation accepted the $1700 donation from Theodore Crawford, President of WUFCF. The donation was made possible from the Westport Firefighters Annual Golf Tournament held in May of this year. The annual golf tournament is one of WUFCF’s main fund raisers each year, the proceeds of which are distributed amongst various charities in the local area. Fairfield News: Burglary, Robbery Suspect Arrested

#Fairfield CT-- On 06/22/2017 at 2:59pm the Fairfield Police Department responded to a robbery in progress in the parking lot of Woodfield Village Condominiums. The suspects pulled up in a vehicle while the victim was removing something from his trunk. The suspect passenger pointed what was described as a black colored .45 style, semi-automatic pistol at him and demanded the keys. The victim yelled and ducked behind his car and the suspects then fled the scene. The victim was not harmed. Officers responding to the scene located a vehicle that matched what the victim described at the scene, and conducted a traffic stop on Churchill Road near Wilson Street. Bridgeport News: 2 Shooting Incidents

9:39pm--#Bridgeport CT--Police are investigating two shooting incidents.  The first happened on East Washington Avenue at Catherine Street.  A car drove up and fired at four males who reportedly returned fire.  There was no one or anything reported hit.   A few minutes later a gunshot victim showed up at Bridgeport Hospital but he said he was shot on Park Street.  Police are investigating both incidents.   This news report is made possible by:

Fairfield News: Smoke Condition

4:37pm--#Fairfield CT-- Fairfield Emergency Communications received an activated alarm at 226 Kings Highway East and then began receiving calls from the tenants on the second floor.  Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the roof and additional fire personnel were called to the scene.  There was no fire, just smoke and they are investigating the cause. Kings Highway East at Villa Avenue was closed to traffic (the road to get to Super Stop and Shop on Villa Avenue) and traffic was backed up significantly on Kings Highway East to North Avenue in Bridgeport.

Bridgeport News: Bus Driver Arrested For Illegal Sexual Contact Of Student

On February 28, 2017 State Police Detectives assigned to Western District Major Crime initiated an investigation after receiving a complaint of sexual contact between an eleven year old female victim and a bus driver for Connecticut Transportation Services, LLC. State Police detectives reported that the eleven year old victim reported that while being transported on the bus, the bus driver, Luis Cruz, touched her inappropriately. Through the course of this lengthy investigation detectives from Western District Major Crime applied for, and were granted an Arrest Warrant from the superior court for Luis Cruz.
