#Fairfield Connecticut-- Senator Murphy toured the Fairfield Metro Train Station on Tuesday along with First Selectman Michael Tetreau, State Senator Tony Hwang and other legislators. Senator Murphy was observing the new mixed use development underway at the old Fitness Edge at the corner of Commerce and Black Rock Turnpike. First Selectman Tetreau said he hopes the state will send some of the newly approved federal “Transit Oriented Development” (TOD) funding to the area. When I asked the senator how Bridgeport's proposed new Barnum Train Station won't suffer from the lack of business development that Fairfield's Metro Station did he said that these are never easy projects, but that there hasn't been much development since the whole country went into catastrophic…
11:31am--#Bridgeport Connecticut--The candle money inside St. Margaret's Shrine at 2523 Park Avenue was stolen. Police are looking for a white male, about 5'8" with dark hair. He was wearing a green shirt with writing on the back, long jeans shorts, white socks with red stripes and boots. He fled towards the back of the chapel on Norman Street Extension towards Suburban Avenue. Police located the opened cash box. Approximately $20 was taken. #Fairfield Connecticut-- So Chic Fairfield opened it's doors Thursday for business. Formerly the Jenny Boston Store its located at 1300 Post Road between 16 Handles and the post office. 11:50pm--#Shelton Connecticut--A Cali Drive resident called police that they heard a large explosion, saw smoke but no fire. Firefighters report that a firework of some kind blew the bumper off a car and has requested police to the scene. This report is made possible by:
