#MIDDLETOWN CT – March 8, 2016) – Connecticut State Police’s K9 Asher has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest was sponsored by Wagging Tails Pet Sitting & Mobile Grooming of Southington and is embroidered with the sentiment “Donated by Wagging Tails Pet Sitting & Mobile Grooming.” K9 Asher has been assigned to Trooper First Class Jessica Colburn for two years and is currently working at Troop A in Southbury. Bridgeport Police Score A Big Drug Bust

On March 5, 2016, pursuant to an ongoing investigation, members of the Tactical Narcotics Team (Officer Rosado/ Officer Garcia) obtained a search and seizure for 109 George Street, Bridgeport. This investigation was predicated on information that the subject of this investigation, identified as Darius Gamble was trafficking cocaine, heroin and marijuana from the residence. Further investigation suggested Gamble possessed several firearms. Based on the nature of the investigation, coupled with the information relative to firearms being present, ESU was summoned to execute the warrant. During a pre-raid surveillance, Gamble's girlfriend, Vivian Rodriguez was detained outside the residence, at which time ESU moved in to execute the warrant. Fairfield CT--The Town of Fairfield, through its Office of Community & Economic Development, is again soliciting program proposals from municipal agencies and community non-profit organizations for funding consideration under the State’s Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) program. This program allows businesses to claim a State tax credit for cash contributions made to qualifying community programs conducted by tax exempt or municipal agencies. The types of community programs that qualify for the NAA tax credit program include, but are not necessarily limited to: energy conservation; employment and training; child care services; neighborhood assistance; substance abuse; open space acquisition; crime prevention programs and affordable housing development.
