Person Stabbed In Chest

Update from FFD PD:At about 11:30 a.m. today, Fairfield Police responded to an isolated incident on Putting Green Road involving a stabbing. Patrol officers arrived within minutes, detained the individual responsible, and immediately rendered aid to the injured person. The victim is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The two males involved were known to each other, lived together, and this was an isolated incident. While there was no threat to the public, North Stratfield School was briefly placed in secure status as a precaution until officers confirmed that the individual responsible was in custody. Darren Palumbo, age 56, of Fairfield will be charged in connection with this incident. The investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by Fairfield…

BPD ARREST BRONX MAN FOR STABBING COWORKER

The Bridgeport Police arrested a 27-year-old man from the Bronx, New York early Tuesday morning after witnesses reported he stabbed a co-worker at a construction site on Stratford Avenue and fled in his car. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury to his abdomen and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital. Jose Antonio Menivar-Ramirez was taken custody at around 7:00 a.m. by the Connecticut State Police near Exit 25 southbound on Interstate 95 after receiving a description of his car from the Bridgeport Police. He was transported to Bridgeport Police Headquarters, where he was charged with Assault in the Second Degree and Breach of Peace in the Second Degree. His was given a bond of $50,000. TRUMBULL, CT – Three people were taken into custody at the Trumbull Marriott shortly after 11:15 a.m. following an approximately hour-long standoff involving Trumbull Police and the United States Marshals Service. Police identified the individuals as Bryce Laister, 34, of North Haven; Tyler Paolini, 32, of Trumbull; and Alexus Urban, 30, of Old Saybrook. Police said officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Service went to the Hawley Lane hotel after learning Laister and Paolini had checked in the previous evening and spent the night there. At approximately 6:44am, Bridgeport police responded to Bass Pro Shops to report of a stabbing. A male party was stabbed in the chest and transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury. The responsible person was taken into custody.

The Bridgeport Fire Department dispatched to the Amphitheater for a fire alarm at approximately 10:27pm. Upon arrival, a small fire was extinguished by the sprinkler system. There was no event at the time and no reported injuries. The Bridgeport Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.

Firefighters were called to the scene of the 300 block of Charles Street in Bridgeport. On arrival they encountered a van on fire and quickly went to putting it out, preventing another nearby car from also catching. The fire is now out at this time.
