Westport News: Kayakers Rescued

#Westport Connecticut--- Today at approximately 1 P.M. the Westport Police Department received a report of an unoccupied kayak floating approximately one third of a mile off the Soundview and Hillspoint Road section of Compo Beach. The arriving officer learned that there was one person stranded on the rock island and a second person had kayaked out to reclaim the unoccupied kayak. The on scène Officer was attempting to maintain a visual on the kayaker while Westport Marine Police Lieutenant Ryan Paulsson and Officer Scott Morrison had launched the Police rescue inflatable to assist. Bridgeport News: Undocumented Pharmacist-Gun Dealer Arrested

Bridgeport – Bridgeport Police today revealed that a major cache of guns and illicit drugs were seized in an action of the city’s new Violent Crime Reduction Task Force over the weekend.  One Bridgeport man was arrested during the police action on Saturday January 30, 2016 and charged with several felony counts.  The Bridgeport Police Tactical Narcotics Team executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at 30 Aldine Avenue, in Bridgeport.  There, Officers discovered an elaborate marijuana cultivation center located in the basement of the residence, which was comprised of indoor grow tents equipped with high intensity grow lamps, agricultural supplies and a mechanical irrigation/ exhaust system.   There were a total of: 85 marijuana plants, which were found to be separated by maturity An additional 500 plus grams of…

  #Westport CT-- On Thursday, January 28, 2016, Westport Police Officers responded to 385 Post Rd. E. (Wireless Zone) on a report that two males were in the store attempting to open accounts using fraudulent identifications. The complainant advised that once they began to question the authenticity of the identifying documents (out of state driver’s license), the two suspects quickly exited the store. Officers responded to Verizon to begin the investigation, while other Officers began checking the area for the suspects. On 01/21/16 at approximately 11:20pm, Westport Officers were dispatched to a Franklin Street address on a report of a disturbance. Officers located an open door and entered the residence. The victim was located bleeding from the head and the accused, James Olivia, had left the scene. Officers located Olivia at his residence in Norwalk a short time later. Officers determined that Olivia grabbed and struck the victim in the face, then stopped the victim from calling 911. Olivia was arrested and held on a $10,000.00 bond with a court date the next morning.
