The Fairfield Woods Branch Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road, will be Talking About Quilts with Susan J. Jerome on Saturday, October 17 at 2:00 pm. Pieces of fabric can have the power to evoke an emotional response. Using images of antique quilts and quilted objects, Ms. Jerome will discuss some of the definitions and ideas surrounding the word “quilt”. 4:22pm--#Bridgeport CT--Police and the Bridgeport Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that was lit on a school bus at the intersection of James and Harral Avenue. Firefighters said it was minor in nature and the item lit on fire was thrown out the window but they are required to investigate any fire lit on a school bus no matter how minor. The age of the students on the bus were unknown and the bus was emptied of all students when I arrived.

4:11pm--#Milford CT-- A domestic fight occurred at the Milford Mall Target and a tall black male wearing a green zip up hoodie and jeans is armed and may be in the wooded area on I 95 according to radio reports. An ambulance has just been dispatched to the Target store, unknown if this is related. This report is made possible by:
(HARTFORD, CT) – Today, the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) announced agreements between the state and the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Tribes that would allow for Keno in the coming year. The accords re-affirm the state’s gaming compact with the tribes and were a necessary step to adhere to Public Acts 15-244 and 15-5. As part of the agreements, each tribe will receive 12.5% of gross operating revenues and tribes may also operate Keno within their reservation and be an authorized lottery retailer of the Connecticut Lottery Corporation. “These agreements are the result of productive and cooperative negotiations between the state and the Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes and represents the next step forward in bringing Keno to the…
