MEMORIAL DAY GRAND MARSHAL ANNOUNCED
Robert (“Bob”) Satter, WWII Veteran William Vornkahl, President of the Westport Veterans Council announced that Robert Satter, a Veteran of World War II, has been selected as the Grand Marshal for the Memorial Day Parade to be held on Monday, May 26th. Bob volunteered for active duty in World War II in November of 1942. Serving as a radio operator with the 8th Air Force, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and two battle stars and the Air medal with three oak leaf clusters after 25 missions in the European Theater of Operations. Fairfield News: Bicycle Collides Into Car
3:28pm--#Fairfield CT--Police are investigating a collision between a bicycle and car on Marlborough Terrace and Greenfield Street. Apparently the bicycle was traveling south downhill on Greenfield Street when it turned into the car's lane and collided. The woman operating the bicycle was transported to the hospital, injuries are unknown at this time.

Railroad Parking Permit Renewals Begin
June 30, 2014 is the expiration date for all Railroad Parking Permits. Renewal letters have been sent out to all permit holders. For the first time, permit renewal letters have been sent by email to permit holders with a valid email address on file. If an email address is incorrect the permit holder will then receive a permit renewal letter by mail. If you are a current permit holder but have not received a renewal letter by the end of this week, whether by email or by regular mail, you should contact the Railroad Parking Division. Bridgeport Fire has been called to the scene to attempt to stabilize a sign that was struck, the people entrapped cannot be rescued until the sign is stabilized.
Man Injured During Attempted Robbery
(Bridgeport, CT – May 5, 2014) – A city man faces charges in connection with an attempted robbery and assault Sunday Officers William Arroyo and Omar Jimenez responded to the area of Fairfield and West avenues at 5:23 p.m. and encountered the victim, David DeJesus, 51, of Bridgeport, who stated that a male later identified as Carlos Delgado, 58, of Bridgeport, approached him and demanded money from his wallet. The victim declined to turn over money and the two got into a physical altercation, during which Dejesus was cut in the face with a knife. He declined medical treatment. Delgado was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault and held on a $10,000 bond.
