Bridgeport Police Officer Helps Save Child’s Life
#Bridgeport, CT – July 23, 2014 – A police officer yesterday evening helped save the life of a child in the city. Officer Michael Novia was on patrol in the area of Park Avenue when a woman flagged him down and hysterically stated that her child was not breathing. Novia observed an unresponsive child in the back seat of the vehicle. He radioed dispatchers who alerted medical staff at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center of an incoming patient. He then activated his light and sirens, told the family to follow him and escorted the family to the hospital.
