I-95 North 27A Ramp Closed Due To Oil Leak

#cttraffic--I-95 northbound Exit 27A is closed with firefighters on the ramp for an oil spill on the ramp. Initial radio reports said it was southbound but I confirmed it is northbound.   Exit 28 East Main Street is backed up.  Get off at exit 26 and take the side roads if you know them or rely on GPS to get you around.  There is also a tractor trailer stuck on the ramp so expect extended delays. Here is an update on a story we brought you live as it was happening: #Bridgeport, CT – June 27, 2014 – A city man faces charges in connection with two commercial robberies in the last two weeks. Officer Anthony Mandolfo responded to the Mi Pueblo Restaurant at 3837 Main St. Thursday on a report of a robbery. A worker stated that a man entered the restaurant with his face covered with a bandana and pointed his hand, which was covered with white sock, as if he had a gun. She turned over cash. A witness saw the man flee from the store and ride off on a bike. The witness and a second man chased him on foot. As he fled, the suspect shed articles…

Heart Attack NO Drowning at Short Beach in Stratford

Just before noon time today a call came in for a person in the water near the concession stand at Stratford's Short Beach.  The result of that call was a heart attack.  We don't normally report on health related calls so we did not report on it.  Around the same time Bridgeport Fire's Marine Unit was DRILLING as we had reported for a drowning at Pleasure Beach.  I even posted how I wanted to go to the call but they did say it was a drill.   I just confirmed with Stratford Police that there was a person found in the water, it is under investigation but they cannot confirm a drowning.  There has been no other calls but other media…

Fairfield News: Odor of Gas Inside Stop and Shop

1:28am--#Fairfield CT--An odor of gas in the produce department back room  Employees told to evacuate the building.  Firefighters on the way.  UPDATE:  Turns out to be a faulty charger on a pallet lifter, no gas leak.  They did smell it as early as 11pm but waited until almost 1:30 to call it in.
