Since the beginning of the school year, the Police Department worked with the Board of Education to complete a comprehensive review of security at every school in the city, both public and private. “It was a huge undertaking, but this effort has made our schools among the most secure in the state,” said Mayor Bill Finch. “I can’t say enough about the collaboration and effort that went into pulling all these pieces together. 1:11pm--#Bridgeport CT--About six shots were fired by a male in a school uniform on George Street, two people were seen running towards Catherine Street. One person in custody matching the description apprehended after a brief pursuit in Greene Homes. First reports of a person down appear to be false.
