GOVERNOR LAMONT ACTIVATES SEVERE COLD WEATHER PROTOCOL SATURDAY EVENING
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that due to an updated weather forecast indicating that wind chill factors across Connecticut could be as low as zero degrees, he is directing the state’s severe cold weather protocol to be activated beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, and remaining in effect through noon on Sunday, March 13, 2022. The purpose of the protocol is to ensure that the most vulnerable populations receive protection from the severe cold conditions, which could be life threatening if exposed to the elements for extended periods of time.
