Bridgeport News: Suspect Wanted In Elderly Attack Arrested

2020-12-31 #Bridgeport CT-- A man wanted in the assault of an elderly man was arrested by Bridgeport Police. The assault was on a 74 year-old man which took place at the Stop and Shop bottle return at 4531 Main Street while the man was returning bottles and cans. It appeared that the suspect attempted to cash out the victim's bottle receipts. The victim was treated at the hospital with serious injuries. The suspect was identified as Verol Clarke, age 49. He was taken into custody without incident. Bond was set for $25,000.

Hartford, CT) — Attorney General William Tong today joined a coalition of 15 attorneys general and the City of New York in filing a lawsuit challenging the Department of Energy’s (DOE) final rule undermining current energy efficiency standards for residential dishwashers. The rule, issued at the request of the anti-regulatory group Competitive Enterprise Institute, unjustifiably exempts a class of dishwashers from energy efficiency standards by creating a new, unnecessary category of dishwashers defined only by shorter cycle times. 2021-01-01@1:40pm--#Bridgeport CT-- One person was shot in the 1400 block of Reservoir Avenue. The victim was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital by private vehicle. 3:30pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Another person was grazed by a bullet on Fairfield Avenue near Albion Street.
