Bridgeport firefighters responded to a large fire in the 1600 block of East Main Street that started in the back of a building and spread to the adjacent building. Crews worked quickly to bring the fire under control and stayed on scene to make sure everything was fully out. No injuries were reported, and everyone inside—including pets—was able to get out safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and additional crews were called in to give firefighters a break during the long response. 10:34pm-- #Bridgeport CT—Multiple witnesses told me that it was teens lighting off fireworks on the roof of a vacant building at 1119 Stratford Avenue that started a fire to the structure. Firefighters on arrival reported heavy fire in the back of the building. It took firefighters about fifteen minutes to knock the bulk of the fire down and about an hour to extinguish all the hot spots. Firefighters needed four hand lines to extinguish the fire in addition to other hose lines to protect neighboring homes. One firefighter received minor injuries.

1:10am--#Bridgeport Connecticut--Firefighters were called to a structure fire at 57 Carver Street. Firefighters found heavy fire in the rear of the home on the second floor. They had the bulk of the fire knocked down within fifteen minutes and chased hot spots for another fifteen minutes. There was no word on any injuries. Fire marshal was called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
