TWO ARRESTED IN HOME INVASION CASE SUNDAY

The Bridgeport Police Department arrested two men from the city for a home invasion after they broke into a house on Kent Avenue on the East Side early Sunday morning. The persons who live there were inside when the suspects forced their way in. Shortly after midnight on Sunday, a 911 caller reported he heard an intruder. Numerous patrol cars responded. Officers immediately saw a person wearing a ski mask walking out of the front door. That person surrendered without incident. The Bridgeport Police took four illegal guns off the streets and arrested three persons this week in a targeted effort to rid the area around Wood Park of crime. Task Force Officers conducted the investigations, named "Operation Wood Island", after the triangular-shaped park where Wood Avenue intersects with Benham Avenue and Grove Street on the city's West Side. The operation was launched in response to continuous complaints from the public about illegal guns, illegal narcotics, noise, and excessive alcohol use during the daytime and at night in the park and the surrounding neighborhood. BPD FIND NO CONNECTION IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT SHOTS FIRED

The Bridgeport Police Department on Thursday reported it found no connection between two separate incidents of gunfire that left an apartment window damaged in each. Both incidents occurred between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Wednesday night. Police recovered 49 shell casings of various calibers at the rear driveway of the Greene Homes public housing complex near Building One. A 55-year-old woman in an apartment in that building was injured by shattered glass when a bullet struck a window. She refused medical treatment. Two Individuals Arrested Following Drug Investigation

On September 30, 2026, a Norwalk Police Canine Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Spring Hill Avenue and Loomis Street. The occupants were identified as Charles Piazza and Melissa Kozma. Over the past several months, the Norwalk Police Department Special Services Division had been conducting an investigation into Piazza and Kozma for selling large quantities of narcotics, including cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl, throughout the City of Norwalk. As a result of the investigation, both Piazza and Kozma had active arrest warrants. During the motor vehicle stop, officers observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Suspect Arrested Following City Hall Restroom Recording

On August 17, 2026, at 1:27 PM, Norwalk Patrol Officers were dispatched to Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue, following a report of a suspicious person. Norwalk Combined Dispatch advised responding officers that a male suspect had entered a women’s restroom, used a cell phone to record an individual inside, and then fled the area. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who reported that while inside a stall in the women’s restroom, an individual held a cell phone underneath the stall and appeared to be recording. The suspect then fled the area. Responding officers searched the surrounding area for the suspect but were unable to locate him.
