BPD INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE #9 ON EAST SIDE MONDAY NIGHT
The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on the East Side early Monday night. At 7:34 p.m. Monday night, police received a ShotSpotter Activation of one gunshot on Barnum Avenue. A 911 caller on Mill Hill Avenue then reported hearing the shot. Officers found 38-year-old Bernard Fludd on the ground on Mill Hill Avenue near the corner of Barnum Avenue. He was unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported up the street by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Officers detained several persons who were seen running into a house on Mill Hill Avenue after the shooting. Mill Hill Avenue near Grant Street was closed for several hours on Monday night…
