#Fairfield CT–Wednesday 4/10/2013–6:29 pm, a complainant reported seeing a man hiding in a wooded area behind
a Vermont Ave home. He believed the man was watching children in the neighborhood and
directed officers to the location.

As police vehicles arrived on Vermont Ave the complainant reported the male had just fled the
scene running through the wooded area he was hiding in, out towards Home Depot, 541 Kings
Hwy Cut Off.

Daniel Gonzalez was detained exiting the woods into the Home Depot parking lot and initially
denied hiding in the woods changed his story several times to police. It was eventually learned
that Gonzalez was stalking an ex-girl friend who lives on Vermont Ave. and he has been sending
her repeated text messages in order to maintain contact. The victim reported that Gonzalez has
recently been showing up unannounced at the house, was seen several times driving past the
house by relatives. After learning Gonzalez was hiding in the woods, she requested his arrest.

Daniel Gonzalez was arrested and charged with 53a-181e Stalking in the 3rd Degree, 53a-183
Harassment in the 2nd Degree, and 53a-167a Interfering. Daniel Gonzalez is being held at the
Fairfield Police Headquarters on a $5000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court
on 04/11/2013 at 09:30 hours.

  1. This is mega there’s always two sides of the story. I was on the seen i spoke and confirmed that he was working.but did not give me a chance to talk to victim to confirm what was going on.
