(Bridgeport, CT – May 10, 2013) – A 37-year-old man faces threatening and child endangerment charges after a dispute with a neighborhood youth led to a bicycle- and chair-throwing armed encounter.

Police Officer Cristina Arroyo was called to the 100-block of Pennsylvania Ave. Thursday afternoon on a report of an armed fight. Everybody had separated by the time police had arrived.

A woman told police that her son and another juvenile were involved in an argument and that Ramon Feliciano, a neighbor, intervened. The other juvenile left but Feliciano went inside his house and retrieved a steak knife, the woman said. Her son then went into their house and retrieved a steak knife of his own. She also claimed that Feliciano threatened to shoot and kill her son.

During the course of the confrontation, Felicano allegedly picked up a chair and threw it at the youth. The youth then picked up a bicycle and threw it into Feliciano’s front window.

Feliciano told police that he intervened in the dispute because he feared for the safety of his young relative. He acknowledged retrieving the knife but said he only did so after the juvenile brandished one.  He also acknowledged threatening to kill the youth buy denied claiming to have a firearm.

Feliciano was charged with risk of injury to a minor, second-degree threatening and breach of peace. The juvenile also faces charges.
