Police late Friday arrested a 20-year-old man for a Dec. 17 shooting in which a store owner was wounded in an apparent attempted robbery.

Detective Mike Fiumidinisi obtained an arrest warrant for Davon Eldemire, of 55 Laurel Ave., for a shooting that occurred at the S&K Grocery at 856 Fairfield Ave.

Fiumidinisi was assisted in the investigation by Detectives Artur Calvao and Kenneth  McKenna. The owner of the store was shot in the leg after struggling with a masked man during an attempted robbery.

Eldemire was arrested Friday night at his home by members of the Emergency Services Unit, Detective Division, Gang Task Force and Patrol.  Eldemire was last arrested for a shooting that occurred during the Puerto Rican Day parade on July 14, 2013, and he was currently out on bond and wearing a GPS monitor.

His current charges area as follows:

Criminal attempt at first-degreeRobbery

First-degree Assault

Carrying a pistol without a permit

He was held on $1.5 million.
