The Bridgeport Police Department hosted its awards ceremony on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014. The ceremony recognized outstanding work by both police and civilians in the past three years.   “We are here to honor the men and women who put their lives on the line every day” said Mayor Bill Finch during the ceremony.    Over fifty officer were honored during the ceremony that was held at the new Fairchild Wheeler Inter-District Magnet School.  It was also a promotional ceremony as Paul Grech and Manuel Cotto were promoted and sworn in to the rank of lieutenant.
