In March of this year the board of the Westport Little League contacted the Westport Police Department regarding the results from their yearly internal audit. Board members presented the results of the audit which showed that over $40,000.00 worth of funds and equipment were unaccounted for.

All of the items were found to emanate from one individual who was given authorization from the board to order equipment and submit expense reports for reimbursement. The investigation then focused on this individual who was interviewed by detectives and eventually admitted to falsifying invoices, cancelling orders after submitting invoices for equipment so that payment was made to him by the league but the items were never delivered, billing the league for clinics that were never held, having parents pay for hotel rooms and expense’s for out of town games and then not paying them back even though he submitted invoices and was reimbursed by the League, and selling league merchandise and keeping the money.

Arrested was the following: Kevin Hlavac, 39 years of age 132 Grey Stone Rd Bridgeport CT.
