Bridgeport News: Bike Stuck in Revolving Door

12: 44am--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were dispatched to 895 Fairfield Avenue for a man and a bicycle stuck in a revolving door.  Firefighters initially had trouble locating the person stuck and later responded the found the man stuck with the bike at Fremont Street and going to work to free them both. Bridgeport News: Shooting at Greene Homes

3:48pm--#Bridgeport CT--Police are investigating a shooting that took place near building four. Police were on patrol when the shooting occured, an officer did see the car as it sped off but was unable to catch up to it. It was a Nissan last seen near exit 4 of Route8/25 going northbound. The victim was shot in the leg and was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. The victim's condition is not known at this time. Video Report: Four years ago, two of Bridgeport's Heroes passed fighting a fire at 41 Elmwood Avenue on a extremely hot Saturday. Lt. Steven Velasquez and Firefighter Michel Baik were on the third-floor checking for hot spots when they sent mayday signals back to dispatch. The Rapid Intervention Team was dispatched, but it was too late, the two had passed. The last time the department lost a member was in 1999, when Walter Flyntz died in a fire on Fairfield Avenue. Bridgeport News: Motorcycle Crash Tying Up Seaview Avenue

12:55pm--#cttraffic--#Bridgeport CT--Avoid I-95 northbound exit 29 Seaview Avenue.   A motorcycle accident has traffic down to one lane and traffic is at a crawl.  The accident is between a Fed Ex home delivery truck and the motorcycle.  No word on the motorcyclist's condition, the accident investigation team has been dispatched.  UPDATE:   According to Capt. Robert Evans, the head of the traffic division, the incident involved the operator of a motorcycle and a box truck. The motorcyclist has been identified as Keith Ward, 54, of Bridgeport. He was traveling north on Seaview when he collided with the rear of the box truck. The preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle had been reported stolen. First Selectman Mike Tetreau wishes to remind the public that the Fairfield Sidewalk Sales event will take place this coming Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine. Select merchants will offer advance sales of discount merchandise beginning on Thursday, July 24th. Over 75 vendors are expected to participate in the downtown portion of this year’s event, setting up stands and offering a variety of merchandise for sales along the Post Road from the Heritage Square Shopping Center to the Promenade at the Brick Walk.
