#Bridgeport, CT — Sept. 4, 2014 — The Fire Department responded to a fire this afternoon on Wayne Street.
At about 1 p.m. the department responded to 657 Wayne St. on a report of a house fire. No one was injured.
Neighbors helped a child escape the house. Fire Commissioner James Meszoros, who was in the area, also saw the fire. He entered the house and helped an elderly resident out of the home.
The house sustained heavy smoke and fire damage to the third floor. The fire remains under investigation.

El Departamento de Bomberos respondió a un incendio esta tarde en Wayne Street.
A eso de las 13:00 el departamento respondió a 657 Wayne St. en un informe de un incendio en su casa. Nadie resultó herido.
Los vecinos ayudaron a un niño a escapar de la casa. El comisionado de Bomberos James Meszoros, que estaba en la zona, también vio el fuego. Entró en la casa y ayudó a un anciano residente fuera de la casa.
La casa sufrió un denso humo y daño de fuego a la tercera planta. El incendio sigue bajo investigación.

Por volta das 01:00 o departamento respondeu a 657 Wayne St. em um relatório de um incêndio em casa. Ninguém ficou ferido.
Vizinhos ajudaram uma criança escapar da casa. Comissário Fogo James Meszoros, que estava na área, também viu o fogo. Ele entrou na casa e ajudou um morador idoso fora de casa.
A casa sustentada fumaça pesada e dano de fogo para o terceiro andar. O fogo continua sob investigação.
