Fairfield News: Armed Robber Caught By Fairfield Police

2ish AM--Grabbed my camera without looking at the clock as Fairfield Police caught an armed robber who entered Walgreen's on Villa Avenue wearing a mask.  The suspected could not flee as police officers nearby were quick on the scene and apprehended the suspect. Bridgeport Firefighters Rescue Two From Inferno

Video Report:  10:02pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters rescue two people trapped in a house fire at 214 Bennett Street in Black Rock.   When firefighters arrived they were aware of two elderly people trapped on the second floor.  The firefighters quickly gained entry and rescued the two victims.  Assistant Fire Chief Christopher Martin told me their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.  About twenty minutes later the firefighters had the bulk of the fire knocked down and spent about another hour knocking down hot spots.  The majority of the fire was in the back of the house on the second floor and attic area.  The fire marshal was quickly called to the scene to investigate the source of the fire. Bridgeport News: Gas Leak Due to Larceny

7:02pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police along with firefighters dispatched to the 500 block of Garfield Avenue for a gas leak.  The leak is apparently due to theft of copper pipes in the basement causing flooding and a gas leak in the basement.  Gas company is on scene as well. Bridgeport News: House Fire

1:22pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters battle a fire at 270 Myrtle Avenue this afternoon.  When firefighters arrived they found heavy fire in the front of the building.  There were people inside the building and all made it out safely but firefighters did a check to make sure no one was trapped.  The fire was confined to the 3rd floor attic area.  Firefighters called the fire marshal to the scene to investigate they cause.  No firefighters were injured. A crash in the 1100 block of Congress Street. Police have located a unoccupied car crashed into a utility pole cracking it and causing damage to the car.  A witness reports that the driver of the car was seen walking north towards Morehouse Highway.  Police are searching and sorting this one out.
