#Bridgeport Police Update: Last night, at about 2215 hours, two males attempted to rob Grand Pizza at 1891 Main St. They entered through the rear and confronted the owner and two workers. As the owner fled out the front door, at least one of the suspects opened fire with a handgun, striking both workers. The suspects fled on foot without taking anything. They were last seen running northbound on Hurd Ave. Both victims were transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital via ambulance, but one of the men, Oscar Martin-Refugio (DOB 1/3/96, of 2649 Main St), died from his injuries. Humberto Barrera (DOB: 5/13/74) sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to surgery and is currently in critical condition. Detectives are working to recover video evidence from nearby businesses and will put them out to the department and media as soon as they are available.
